Bigot stumped when directly asked whether transwomen like Laverne Cox should use the men's bathroom

MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews discussed this week’s attack on trans rights when the administration rolled back protections from the Obama era for trans students using the bathroom aligning with their gender identity. The show invited two trans women — actress Laverne Cox and executive director of the National Center for Transgender Equality Mara Keisling — to eloquently discuss the issue. Oh, and Travis Weber, the director of the Center for Religious Liberty at hate group Family Research Council was booked to be there for some reason, too.

It’s disgusting that basic human rights like using the bathroom are deemed fit for public discussion, but here we are. Trump’s America. Yay.

*sigh* Anyway...during the segment, host Chris Matthews asks professional bigot Weber whether his fellow guests should use the men’s restroom since they are transwomen. The clear answer is no. In fact, I bet bigots like Weber would most likely be extraordinarily weirded out by sharing a public bathroom with women— trans or not. Unsurprisingly, Weber didn’t have a real answer. Like most Republicans, he didn’t have a clear answer when asked about how to apply their policies in real-life situations (instead of the hypothetical ones in their heads).
