PA-Sen: In 2016, We Will Finally Send Mr. Smith (Sestak (D)) To Washington

Received this e-mail today from former Congressman and decorated Admiral, Joe Sestak (D. PA) that took us down memory lane:

At 10:10 pm, Chris Matthews announced on November 2nd, 2010 that "Mr. Smith doesn't go to Washington this time” to let MSNBC viewers know I was not the winner of the 2010 Senate election in PA.

I was honored because Chris was referring to the movie that starred Jimmy Stewart as a Senator who would not back down from confronting public wrong, even at a cost to himself. I thought that night of having visited Jimmy Stewart’s hometown of Indiana, Pennsylvania, during the campaign.

While this email may not (although I hope it does) bring in a herculean amount of funds, I most hope it attracts you to believe again in a government “for the people’’… to believe in me. It’s needed more than any policy or program simply because the largest deficit in America is not the debt….it is the trust deficit.

Please join me in restoring trust in our public officials; help me be part of that restoration with your “people’s contribution” of $25, $50, $100, $250 — or whatever you can -- so that once again we can have public servants in real life that are like we once portrayed in the movies.

Warmly,

Joe Sestak
