Hillary told Chris Matthews her New Years resolution: she isn’t going to respond to Mr. Trump’s “personal attacks.” Though this leaves plenty of room for Clinton to respond to non-personal attacks:
Clinton is strategically taking the high-road because attacks on her over Bill’s infidelity backfire with the American public. Hillary has shown great strength in the face of adversity, which is why she has been the most admired woman in America a record-breaking 20 times. Blaming Hillary for Bill’s infidelities and calling her an “enabler” is yet another conspiracy theory right out of the same playbook suggesting President Barack Obama is some sort of secret Muslim. Mr. Trump’s proposed ban on Muslims isn’t the first time he has exploited hate toward Muslims.
Interestingly, Mr. Trump squealed in his seat when Chris Matthews pressed him over the “birther movement” the other day. In the video, Trump cries that he doesn’t want to talk about it anymore.
It’s a must-watch video of Matthews vs. Trump. Trump loses big time:
Say what you want about Matthews style, but he definitely put Trump in his place. And yesterday, on Hardball, Hillary hit Trump with something he’d rather not talk about — the “birther movement.”
So let us never forget: Trump first gained a following by promoting and propelling the racist “birther movement” against President Barack Obama. A movement rooted in discrimination and dividing the American people against each other. The classic-tale of a demagogue gaining power through division, hate, and fear.
Currently, Trump is yet again employing the use of conspiracy theories against his opponents. His latest victim? Tea Party favorite Ted Cruz. Mr. Trump is insinuating Mr. Cruz may not be an American citizen. Hmmm… I’m sensing a pattern being repeated by Mr Trump. A pattern of conspiracy theories rooted in demagoguery.
Mr. Trump is great at innuendo and being a compelling con-artist. But just realize that as you watch him, it’s all hollow. Mr. Trump only cares about one person — himself. Always has. He’s a bigot-bully-billionaire born with a silver-spoon in his mouth.
James Carville, President Bill Clinton’s lead campaign strategist, said it best the other day:
