I’ve Had It With MSNBC - The Inmates Have Taken Over- My Letter To Brian Williams

Dear Brian,

The inmates have taken over at MSNBC.

Your balance and judgment and responsible demeanor are sorely needed over
at MSNBC before our young Rachel and Chris Hayes are completely destroyed
by the Chris Matthews' perversion of journalism and by COMCAST which has apparently decided that they are going to make the news instead of report it.

The only one left over there who is still in their right mind is Lawrence
O’Donnell.

The rest are becoming the “liberal” version of FOX News.

The - sorry for this - but the sleazy faux journalist Chris Matthews is
having an undue influence  on your 2 young talk show hosts - Rachel Maddow
and Chris Hayes who are just in over their heads. A Jesuit and a Rhodes
Scholar have sunk so low under Matthews’s tutelage. It’s pitifulul.

Chris Mathews seems to have convinced them that his style of hardball where
he turns into the inquisitor general on some bizarre bit of minutia and
blows it out of proportion with falsifications and distortions is the way
to get a meaningful revelation out of the interviewee. It is not. It is pure
distortion and sleaze. Yesterday the idiot Donald Trump fell for it and
fell flat on his confused face.

Matthews is wrong. He is an absolute embarrassment. But the producers and
president of MSNBC don’t seem to  recognise how Matthews is degrading the
level of product that MSNBC is peddling. No wonder MSNBC advertisers are so
second rate. A first rate advertiser that has any self respect would not
advertise on MSNBC.

Maybe this is the intent . But if so - MSNBC has now lost me. I cannot go
back to this sorry level of television.

Yesterday Chris Matthews through his usual harassment got the idiot Trump
to say something really stupid that even he clearly did not want to say.
Then Rachel did a kabuki theater using that stupid comment to make a big
deal out of it with Clinton - then with Sanders - and then went back to
Clinton with a distortion of what Sanders  said.
And then Rachel dragged the once promising Kornacke into it to attack
Sanders once again. when in fact, to this viewer Sanders gave a
most appropriate response, as strong as any rational person could expect.
But Rachel tried to create Kabuki theater out of her own whole cloth, Chris Matthews’
version of the truth.
Maybe $7MM can persuade anyone that their theater is worth more than the truth.
But if so, good luck to her. She’s lost me, which may not be worth a damn. But Judith Miller ruined the Times - they are a schlock war mongering paper for me. I don’t read them anymore either.
This country is in trouble - with endless wars and a Banker Class that’s skimming 30% off the rest of the economy leaving much poverty in its wake.
And MSNBC is doing nothing to help right the ship.
I mean Sanders tried to stop her hysterical fixation on the Trump self immolation by asking her to pay attention to something really important like global warming but that
didn’t even slow her down.
I don't expect Sanders to win but he seems to be the only candidate capable of telling the truth to the people of this country.
And Rachel and Chris Matthews and now Chris Hayes and poor Kornacke are willing to trade honest journalism for gotcha moments that will put another delusional liar back in the White House.
Even you, Brian, maybe the best announcer remaining at NBC, over your relatively innocuous misstatement - given the outrageous lies that are generally flung around in media these days  - you were, imo,  witch hunted out for 6 months.
I guess that the Comedy Channel’s  Larry Wilmore Nightly Show and   Trevor Noah’s Daily Show are  now closer to real news through Satire than MSNBC,
Good luck to you.
And thanks.
p.s. some additional comment I’d like to provide.
I left my MSNBC station for another channel after Rachel and Kornacke continued the
distortion following her so called interviews.
When I returned later that evening I noticed that Rachel’s Kabuki theater had been replaced by an editorial over ride and both Clinton’s and Sanders responses to the Trump nonsense were shown instead.
Again I ask, how can a Rhodes Scholar stoop so low?
Rachel has the annoying habit of seeming so self important doing the interviews as though she is doing something of such great import.
Well she is not - especially when she cherry picks stuff to make irrelevant points.
What is her goal here?
Is she being driven by a producer trying to give a partiicluar slant to the “news”?
Is she trying to appeal to a certain segment of her audience?
She and Kornacke were trying to nitpick over what that idiot Tad Devine was saying. Well y’know what? Clinton has that idiot Robby Mook who says stupid things too. I don’t care what either of them say. I care about what the candidates say.
Sanders answered her questions honestly, I thought.
Why can’t she give it a rest.
I think she is under too much pressure.
You, Brian, when you show up on MSNBC - I never know which political candidate is your favorite and I don’t want to know - it is your business. You always seem truly fair and balanced and don’t put a spin on what you are saying. You are a good journalist.
NBC is lucky to have you.
I hope Colbert has you on some time.
Best wishes.
